WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE REGISTRATION PROGRAM?
Since we are offering a limited number of residences for sale, we are giving priority to early interested parties by inviting them to register on this website to be first in line when the official selling of the residences begins. Additionally, since the official selling of residences will not begin before the ship is purchased, we will be able to keep all registered potential buyers informed about the timeline, the ship itself, the refit program, the general arrangement of the vessel, final floor plans and all other development progress. At the same time, the Registration Program is an ideal way to present the various agreements (purchase, escrow, maintenance, club, rental program) as they are being processed and finalized.
HOW MANY RESIDENCES ARE FOR SALE?
There will be 40 residences: 16 one-bedroom and 24 two-bedroom apartments.
WHAT IS THE SIZE OF THE RESIDENCES?
The one-bedroom residence will be 850 Sq. ft (79 Sqm) and the two-bedroom residence will be 1200 Sq. ft (111.5 Sqm).
WHAT IS THE PRICE OF THE RESIDENCES?
One-bedroom residences are priced at US $2,350,000 and two-bedroom residences at US $3,350,000.
WHEN WILL PAYMENTS BE REQUESTED?
The official selling of Owners Residence will begin once Blue World Voyages secures the vessel, at that time, you will be able to enter into a purchase agreement with an initial payment of 25% of the purchase price. A second payment of 25% will be requested six months later. A third payment will be made at the start of the refitting of the vessel planned for late 2020. These three payments will be held in an escrow account to be disbursed to the company upon delivery of the residence. At that time, the remaining balance of 25% is due.
WHAT IS THE OWNERS CLUB?
As an Owner, you will be a member of the Blue World Owners Club. You will have the exclusivity to use the Owners Club facilities on the two upper decks where the Owners’ residences will be located such as lounge, bar and outside terrace as well as the use of your Owners’ concierge and butler service. The Owners Club will be an official sounding board for future activities.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE BENEFITS OF BEING AN OWNER?
Your residence is yours to use at all times. And you will have the ability to lend the residence to family, friends and business associates, providing the reservation is made by you and without any cash transaction. You will also have the option to rent your residence exclusively through the rental program established and managed by Blue World Voyages. This will give you the option to cover up to 100% of the annual maintenance cost.
The two upper decks of the vessel are reserved exclusively for Owners. These decks include the residences, an open deck terrace, Owners lounge, bar and concierge service. A butler service will be available for your own comfort. As Blue World Voyages expands to ship two and three, you will have the opportunity to participate in an exchange program for use of another unit onboard these ships.
WHAT ARE THE MAINTENANCE COSTS FOR THE RESIDENCES?
When you sign the purchase agreement, you will sign a maintenance agreement. The ship’s operating costs are allocated to all livable space on the vessel (Owners Residences as well as passenger suites) on a per square foot/square meter basis. Maintenance costs will be budgeted each year. Annual fees for residences are estimated to be between 8 and 10% of the purchase price, payable monthly. You will have the opportunity to cover this maintenance expense by placing your residence, when not in use, into our rental program. Current estimates show that renting the residence for +/- 23 weeks will cover the annual maintenance cost.
WHERE ARE THE RESIDENCES LOCATED ON THE VESSEL?
Two full upper decks will be reserved exclusively for the residences, along with an open deck terrace, lounge and bar, exclusively for Owners.
WILL I RECEIVE SPECIAL ASSISTANCE WHEN ON BOARD?
An Owners concierge, located in the Owners Club lounge, will be available at all times for residents.
ARE FOOD AND DRINK INCLUDED IN THE PURCHASE PRICE?
With four specialty restaurants onboard the vessel, food and beverages are included. Complimentary beer and wines are served at lunch and dinner; non-house brands are extra.
ARE THE FOOD/MENU ITEMS SERVED ON BOARD “MARKET FRESH”?
Our chefs will go ashore in each port to procure the freshest locally-sourced ingredients possible, including fresh fruits, vegetables and herbs. With our planned itineraries, finding locally fresh produce year-around should be no problem.
ARE EXCURSIONS INCLUDED IN THE PURCHASE PRICE?
Some excursions, such as running, hiking, yoga, some cycling tours, culinary, sightseeing and cultural activities, are included. For other excursions, we will need to charge but will do our best to keep charges as reasonable as possible.
WHAT ELSE IS INCLUDED IN THE PURCHASE PRICE?
All gratuities are included. Free internet service is included. Owners have full use of laundry facilities located on each deck. Plus, each week you can expect three once in a lifetime, not to miss “Signature Events”. But they are a surprise so don’t ask.
WHAT IS THE LEGAL STATUS OF THE PURCHASE AGREEMENT?
The purchase agreement is a 25 year “right of use” with a unit which you will be able to lend, rent, sell or have assigned, transferred or otherwise disposed of by testamentary instrument upon the death of the Owner.
DO I HAVE THE CHOICE OF THE DESIGN OF THE RESIDENCE?
You will have the choice between two designs, one classical and one contemporary, both with generous balconies. The designs will be available when the official selling of the residences begins. We are working with talented architects and interior designers including Juan Poggi Design whose approach is fresh, personalized and intended to “wake up the eye,” and Tomas Tillberg Design International one of the most respected names in maritime design.
ARE FURNISHINGS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE RESIDENCE?
All furniture, wall coverings, floor coverings and décor are included in the price of the residence.
ARE LINENS, BATH TOWELS INCLUDED IN THE PRICE OF THE RESIDENCE?
All linens, comforters, blankets, pillows and towels are included in the price.
WILL MY RESIDENCE BE CLEANED EVERY DAY?
Housekeeping will take care of daily cleaning while the residence is occupied. When not occupied, the residence will be attended by housekeeping once a week.
WILL I BE ABLE TO LEND MY RESIDENCE?
You will be able to lend your residence to family, friends and business associates providing the reservation is made by you and without any cash transaction.
WILL I BE ABLE TO RENT MY RESIDENCE?
You will be able to rent your residence exclusively through the rental program set up and managed by Blue World. The residence can be rented for as long as you want. The company will retain a 15% management fee to cover marketing and administration expenses.
WILL I BE ABLE TO SELL MY RESIDENCE?
Yes, and Blue World Voyages will maintain a sales department to market residences that are for sale by Owners. Blue World will have first right of refusal to purchase back your residence.
WHAT IS THE SHIP’S ITINERARY?
Exciting itineraries are planned. During the first year, the focus will be on visiting the less frequented but beautiful ports of call in the Mediterranean, including ports in France, Spain, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Turkey, and Montenegro. We plan to sail the Atlantic, North, Norwegian, and Baltic Seas to explore the coasts of Spain, Portugal, France, Belgium, Holland, the British Isles, Ireland, Iceland, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Sweden, Finland and Russia. During the winter months, the ship will explore destinations along the South American coastline. Blue World itinerary choices are driven by shoreside activities related to physical activities, discovery, cultural offerings and culinary (food and wine) experiences. Owners may want to stay on the ship for several weeks at a time, so we will not be repetitious with itinerary planning. On some itineraries, depending on local interests, the ship will remain at the destination overnight.
WILL I BE ABLE TO KEEP PERSONAL ITEMS IN MY RESIDENCE WHEN RENTED?
Each residence will have a lock up space for personal belongings. The space is accessible from outside the residence–but only by the Owner.
WILL I BE ABLE TO BRING MY YOUNG CHILDREN?
We do not recommend Blue World for children under 16. If over 16, and if your children are active, yes! This is a perfect way for them to see the world. Certain exceptions may apply.
DO I HAVE TO PROVIDE MY OWN SPORTS EQUIPMENT?
All sports equipment is provided by Blue World Voyages, and is supplied by sponsors representing only the best, top-flight brands. But, feel free to bring your own.
BEYOND FARM-TO-TABLE RESTAURANTS, WHAT OTHER ECO-FRIENDLY ASPECTS CAN I EXPECT?
There are many aspects large and small that reflect Blue World’s focus on environmental sensitivity and maintaining a “green” ship. We enforce a “nothing overboard” policy; all waste is sorted and incinerated onboard, recycled, or carefully disposed of onshore. Our goal is to minimize the use of plastic and paper. One step is to give every passenger refillable water bottle and to ensure that purified water refill stations are located throughout our ship. We make sure our onboard environmental officers provide up-to-date training to all crew to oversee shipboard compliance with environmental requirements. Things as simple as using only environmentally friendly cleaning products are part of our program. And one of the things we're most proud of, Blue World is a member of the International SeaKeepers Society.
HOW QUALIFIED ARE OUR FITNESS INSTRUCTORS?
Fitness is our core focus! We are the first (and currently the only) cruise line to have a VP of Wellness, Diane Trieste, as part of our executive team. She will oversee/direct our fitness and shore excursion staff. Diane is the Former Director, Spa & Product Development, Canyon Ranch, Tucson AZ, Lennox MA, Las Vegas NV and Canyon Ranch at Sea Canyon Ranch Living Facilities. Beyond that, we are partnering with expert in the fields of fitness and wellness—Oxygen Magazine, Outside Magazine, Yoga Journal, Hank Haney Golf, Well+Good and others—to lend their expertise.
WHAT IS THE PLANNED NAME OF THE SHIP?
The name of the vessel will be decided at a future date.
DO YOU HAVE AN IDEA WHEN THE SHIP WILL BE REVEALED?
We have selected three vessels which are now in cruise operation. These vessels have been surveyed during the course of this year. These vessels have a length of +/- 700 feet and accommodate presently +/- 1500 cruise passengers. Aside of the 40 residences to be sold there will be 200 double suites and 25 single suites for the cruise passengers. The selection of the ship will be revealed prior to the start of the selling of the residences late 2019.
WHEN WILL THE REFIT OF THE VESSEL BEGIN?
The first Blue World Voyages ship will be a repurposed, completely refurbished vessel designed and styled by the top marine design architects and interior designers in the industry: Tomas Tillberg Design International and Juan Poggi Design. The refit will begin when the work being executed by our maritime engineer is completed. We are planning to start cruise operations at the beginning of the second quarter of 2021.
WHERE IS THE REFIT TAKING PLACE?
The refit will be done in a European or Asian shipyard that we evaluate as providing the right skills, capabilities, craftsmanship and experience for the project.
WHY DID BLUE WORLD CHOSE TO REPURPOSE AN EXISTING VESSEL RATHER THAN INITIATE A NEWBUILD?
We chose to repurpose an existing vessel rather than initiate a newbuild for a combination of reasons. By taking a larger ship and downsizing it (+/- 1500 Pax down to 525 Pax) we can provide substantial space to accommodate our residences and our passenger suites as well as the additional space required to offer two complete decks dedicated to “Active Lifestyle Cruising”; one deck for sports amenities and one for spa facilities. Also, after refit, our per-berth cost will be 1/3 of the cost per-berth of a 4-5-star vessel. This allows for a lower break-even point.
